searching for dragonflies

The game is afoot. I decided that I needed to find a dragonfly to photograph, so I went to Chisolm Creek Park near Oliver and Highway 96.  I found an ugly dragonfly and a pretty damselfly.  The dragonflies kept lighting on the blacktop/cement trail, because they were well camoflauged there. But they were too well camoflaughed.

Then my pretty damselfly started eating lunch, and now we have the more ugly pics that I'm used to --this is how they usually pose for me. 

Then I ran across this montrous looking thing -- what is it?
